It never ceases to amaze me how out of touch with popular culture I am. Cohen visits "Megafest" in Atlanta, Georgia and describes the preacher T.D. Jakes, "America's favorite pastor", who apparently has been featured in Time magazine, has weekly television broadcasts and is one of the twenty-five most influential evangelicals. I never heard of him. I used to know all about the televangelists (Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson) back in their heyday of the 1980s, but I just don't know about these new guys.
